Set in an 11th-century building within the imposing castle of Monemvasia, Pablito House offers rustic rooms, all with a balcony with a stunning sea view. All units are self-catered with their own kitchenette with kettle and fridge.
Boasting genuine local character, rooms at Pablito House have iron beds, traditional rugs and stone-built walls.
* Information at 50m from the gate to the store “Edodimopolio”.
Parking is not allowed within the walls. I suspect if you arrive early you might get parking close to the main entrance gates. Otherwise you can drop your bags off at the gate and go park along the road. It is a must a really wonderful experience.
Pablito House was a great choice and Kostas the manager was most helpful. There are lots of very invigorating walks to do – we went up to the ruins of the upper town twice – great way to work of excess calories from the superb food from the taverna. Cannot remember the name of the taverna, but I am pretty sure it was the only one that had stamna on the menu – and it was delightful. Wonderful history and so much that is well preserved. The ocean view from our room (the middle level) was stunning.
We stayed two nights in the Sofita accommodation. Whilst the room was not particularly large, what it lacked in space it made up for in character. Very tastefully decorated in an authentic kind of style, very in-keeping with the surroundings and atmosphere of the whole town. Very clean and we were provided with biscuits, jams and croissants in the room, perfect for breakfast. The owner was very friendly, met us at the gate and gave us a brief guide through the town, explaining some of the history. Overall, a lovely experience.
